Joe Louis Arena is located in Detroit, Michigan. It is nicknamed The Joe and JLA. It is home to the Detroit Red Wings. It cost $57 million to build in 1979 and is named after former heavyweight champion Joe Louis and owned by the city of Detroit.
The arena has been used for many different events. It hosts college hockey events, the 1980 Republican National Convention, WWE events and many concerts. It was the largest concert venue in Michigan until The Palace of Auburn Hills was built.
